According to court records, Leonard Hafertepe, 57, is being charged with five counts of stealing $750 or more and five counts of first-degree property damage. Charging documents state that Hafertepe was arrested in a car that matched the description of a car used during thefts of Honda adaptive cruise control sensors in the city. Through an investigation, surveillance video and police body camera footage, Hafertepe was identified as a suspect in for the thefts. He was arrested on Monday and was found to have seven sensors and Honda emblems. Hafertepe admitted to stealing them. After being read his rights, Hafertepe admitted to stealing 20 sensors on 20 different Honda cars, court documents state.
