Jerome Williams, 21, was found with blunt force trauma inside his home in the 2700 block of Rutger on August 30, 1980, around 2 a.m. He died the next day from his injuries. Jerome Williams, 21, died on August 31, 1980, in the City of St. Louis. (St. Louis City Police) At the time, police arrested a 19-year-old man. However, charges were never issued. Police said there were several witnesses present during the assault, but they stated they didn't hear or see anything. With decades having passed, the Homicide Division is hopeful that someone from that time could come forward to assist with the investigation to provide Jerome's family with justice and closure, the police department wrote in an announcement asking for public assistance.
