JONESBURG, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A Jonesburg man faces several charges after police said he shot a 60-year-old man multiple times from his car following an argument about property damage.

Roger Fischer, 77, faces charges of first-degree assault with serious physical injury, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action following a shooting in Jonesburg on Tuesday, according to court records.

A probable cause statement said the incident occurred around 10:11 a.m. when Fischer parked his car in front of the victim's driveway. The two men got into an argument after Fischer asked the victim about a hole in his garage door.

Fischer told deputies the victim then walked up to his car  with his hands up in a fighting stance.  He said the victim then  yelled something  and that he  feared for his life. 

Fischer pointed a handgun from his door window and shot the man several times, leaving him with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, according to the probable cause statement. The 60-year-old victim had to undergo surgery to repair his liver, colon, stomach and bladder.

The Jonesburg Police Department said officers have been called to the property multiple times before the shooting.

 The victim and Fischer have had several arguments in the past, and at one point Fischer had said if we couldn't stop the victim from damaging his house, he was going to take care of it himself,  the probable cause statement said.

Police said they believe Fischer drove to the man's house anticipating an altercation and that he was  fully aware of his actions. 

Fischer is held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond, according to court records. He is scheduled for an initial appearance at Montgomery County Circuit Court on Thursday.
