FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Schools across Franklin County, Missouri, were in secure mode much of Wednesday due to a threatening social media post, the sheriff says. Steven Pelton, the Franklin County Sheriff, says a deputy assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force learned of a Facebook post that read Let's shoot people at school tomorrow. Schools in Franklin County were told to go into secure mode as law enforcement investigated. Despite the poster using an alias account, investigators were able to find a person of interest. That person's vehicle was caught on a Flock camera in Eureka. Around 1:30 p.m., a Sullivan Police Officer pulled the suspect's car over, and they were taken into custody. Pelton says his office is investigating the post as a terrorist threat. He says there is no threat to the community or schools following the arrest. I wanted to thank the partnership off all law enforcement agencies and the school within the county when an incident like this occurs it is imperative that everyone works together to keep our children safe, Pelton said in a release. #firstalert4 #crimewatchstlouis
