(First Alert 4) - Law enforcement arrested a wanted fugitive Thursday night after a five-hour search in a wooded area south of New Florence. Deputies responded to a property south of New Florence around 6:30 a.m. after someone reported seeing people wearing camouflage walking on their property, as captured by a deer camera, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Deputies could not locate the trespassing suspects. Later, around 4:50 p.m., deputies received another report of two people in camouflage trespassing on another property south of the initial report. Deputies located one of the men, who fled on foot into a wooded area, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies received a ride-out report on the other person, who was eventually located. Law enforcement discovered the man who fled into the woods had a warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service for weapons charges. After establishing an initial perimeter, a trail camera captured the suspect around 7:16 p.m. near the site of the early-morning trespassing report, according to the sheriff's office. A new perimeter was then established. Law enforcement then found the man lying along a tree line south of a pond. Deputies and troopers tried to chase him on foot through the woods but lost sight of him. Law enforcement continued the search through the perimeter until troopers found the man hiding in a tree around 10 p.m., according to the sheriff's office. Law enforcement surrounded the tree and brought the ghillie-suited man into custody. The suspect, a 52-year-old man from Kansas City, is awaiting charges for multiple counts of trespassing and resisting arrest. The sheriff's office thanked Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office for their assistance. We also thank the property owners who provided timely information and deer camera images that helped law enforcement locate the subject, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said. This coordinated effort helped bring the search to a safe conclusion. Law enforceme #firstalert4 #crimewatchstlouis
