Ann Wagner (R) posted Friday afternoon her stance on the Pentagon saying it will livestream an execution. On Friday, Wagner posted on social media that the U.S. does not stand for livestreamed executions. Justice will be served, but the United States of America does not and should not livestream executions. https://t.co/WBV46Eihpj - Ann Wagner (@RepAnnWagner) October 9, 2026 Justice will be served, but the United States of America does not and should not livestream executions, Wagner wrote. Wagner represents Missouri's second district. On Thursday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan would be livestreamed. We'll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it's public, Hegseth said. Earlier on Friday, Vice President JD Vance cast doubt on whether the Pentagon would actually livestream the execution. I'm not going to be watching it, Vance told reporters. Hasan was convicted of killing 13 people and injuring 32 others in a shooting spree at Fort Hood in 2009.
