Two men face murder charges after the shooting death of an 18-year-old man in the West End neighborhood last month. (SLMPD) Jackson is the second suspect to be arrested for Holmes' death. Darius Nelson, 19, also faces several charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and two counts of armed criminal action, court records show. A probable cause statement said that on Sept. 4, Jackson and Nelson planned to rob Holmes. While Nelson sat in the back seat with Holmes, he told the driver to drop him off near the intersection of Plymouth and Oakley. Jackson and another suspect were waiting at the intersection, according to the statement. Nelson grabbed Holmes' bag as he exited the car; a struggle ensued, and Nelson shot and killed Holmes. The statement said Jackson, or potentially a third suspect, then fired a shot at the car. Jackson told police that the cell phone number used to plan the robbery over text was not his, despite the phone being in his possession when he was arrested, the statement said. He also said he was not at the robbery scene despite cell phone data placing him there. Nelson pleaded not guilty to his charges in court on Oct. 9, according to court records. Both suspects are held without bond. #firstalert4 #crimewatchstlouis
