ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The man who pulled the trigger in a murder-for-hire in the City of St. Louis was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Prosecutors said that in June 2023, Andrew C. Hubbard hatched a plan to kill his mother, Andreaia Worthem, with a cocaine base that was spiked with a lethal dose of fentanyl or heroin. Hubbard reportedly had a $150,000 insurance policy on his mother. He reportedly talked about the plan with Kim Alexis Mosley and promised her $50,000 if it succeeded. He also offered his cousin, Eric Washington, $10,000 to give his mother the drugs. On the night of July 6, 2023, Washington picked up Worthem from her home in St. Louis County and drove her to the City of St. Louis, where he shot her multiple times. Prosecutors said Washington took advantage of Worthem's drug addiction to get her to go with him. They also noted that she had wounds that indicated she attempted to defend herself. After the shooting, Worthem's body was left in an alley in the 4400 block of Kennerly Avenue. Washington reportedly told Hubbard that the drugs didn't work, so he shot her instead. According to prosecutors, Hubbard paid Washington $450 and gave him cocaine and marijuana as a form of payment. Impatient over not receiving the promised $10,000, Washington called the insurance company to ask about the money and stated he had done some work for Hubbard. Washington and Mosley each pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire resulting in personal injury. Washington was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Mosley will be sentenced on Jan. 20. Hubbard pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and one count of murder-for-hire. He will be sentenced on Dec. 1. #firstalert4 #crimewatchstlouis
