es. Kathryn White lives near Highway 30 and heard the crash. We heard a loud bang. First, we thought it was a firework, but it was too loud for that. And then we heard another one right after it, White said. We knew that, oh, there's got to have been an accident right there, and there was. Residents raise safety concerns First Alert 4 has covered multiple crashes along Highway 30 over the last few months, sparking concerns for residents nearby. We've been out on the road, and people are just zooming in and out and cutting us off. I don't know what we can do, but something needs to be done, White said. Others say ongoing construction and repaving in the area are also problematic and could have contributed to the crash. It's so dark. There's no lines. There's little reflectors you can't see, Webb said. I wish they could come up, you know, right now, I don't know, put something in the middle of the road, so you know what side of the lane you need to be on. Neighbors who live near the site of the crash, speaking off-camera, said speeding continues to be a concern. Many told First Alert 4 that it's common to hear cars revving and speeding along the highway. First Alert 4 has reached out to the Department of Transportation regarding when striping will happen along Highway 30 near Cedar Hill, and as of the report, they have not received a response.
