St. Louis City prosecutors charged 21-year-old Terry E. Webster Jr. on Oct. 16 with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is accused of shooting and killing 43-year-old Ron Banks. Webster is being held at the St. Louis City jail without bond. The shooting happened late on June 21 in the 5000 block of West Florissant in North City. According to court records, investigators found Banks shot multiple times on the front lawn of a building in the 5000 block of West Florissant. Banks was taken to an area hospital, where he died. Investigators say a witness identified Webster as the shooter. Police obtained surveillance video that they say shows Webster shooting Banks multiple times before fleeing. During their investigation, police say they learned Webster lived in the home where Banks was found. Investigators say Webster had come home early from work the day of the shooting because his girlfriend was fighting with somebody. Court records do not say whether or not the person fighting with Webster's girlfriend was Banks. Then, police say, Webster and Banks stepped outside to fight, which led to the shooting. Court records say Webster admitted to knowing Banks was unarmed and that he shot him. #firstalert4 #crimewatchstlouis
